it's official, i'm addicted

I attempted to quit all social media cold turkey. I just walked away.

...and I came crawling back in less than 24 hours. It's almost embarrassing. I did, however, eliminate a few of them and regain some of my wasted time. Facebook was hard to lose, not because of the mindless status updates (insert cliche examples here), but because it's become something I use for keeping up with friends around the country and events that are going on around me. Without it, I would have basically no idea of what's happening in this little town I love.

The other one I couldn't resist was Instagram. Back in the day (like... 1 year ago), Instagram was a big part of why I switched from Android to iPhone as it didn't look like it would show up on Android any time soon (oh, how things change in the world of technology). I did take the opportunity to create a new IG that would work better for my photography branding. I haven't touched my DSLR since Michigan. I've been shooting with my iPhone though and just got the 'Blad back out. Look for some film scans coming soon. In the meantime, here's an update straight from IG and if you're interested in following me - @alandunagan

This girl stole my heart. Sorry, ladies.

She took this picture of me but I really liked it, so here's a rare glimpse at who i am.

I think I'm active on too many websites. Now, it's only primarily cross-promotion. I primarily just stick with blog, facebook, tumblr and instagram (though I still shoot a lot with film and my dslr)!

I found myself clicking away endlessly, haha. Now I'm just trying to better manage my time spent on them (though I'm down to FB, IG and this blog).

p.s. All your recent film work is a big reason why I got the Hasselblad out again. I even loaded it with Portra instead of my usual TMax.

FB is the same for me, I use it for keeping track of whats going on. And pimping my blog.
Twitter is the one I'd die without although instagram is slowly becoming that way for me too.

I love the simplicity of IG and the fact that I can find cool stuff pretty much every time I launch it. Admittedly, I never got into Twitter. There was so much going on and as little as I used it, new businesses would start following me almost daily. I felt like one tiny, targeted consumer. But I have other friends who love it as well so obviously something is working.

Aw, that makes me happy to hear! At least keep posting your film work!
